The Bible says that generation was very evil, God felt very sorrow. He is Holy, and he want to open a new world. His judgement was good for the righteous, and at the other hand, the judgement is the end to the evil.

Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.

Genesis chapter 6 gives four reasons why God sent the Flood:

The wickedness of man was great in the earth’ (v. 5).
Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually’ (v. 5).
The earth was filled with violence’ (v. 11).
The earth…was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth’ (v. 12). (All the people on earth had corrupted their way.)
